Herbs have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. Whether it was my dad teaching me the basics or just learning what actually works over time, these are the go-to herbal remedies I rely on—and they’re simple enough that anyone can make them.

🌿 1. Calendula Salve (For Cuts, Burns & Skin Irritations)

This is my all-purpose skin healer. Calendula is antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and just plain good for any kind of skin irritation.

How to Make It:

  • Infuse dried calendula flowers in olive oil for 4-6 weeks (or speed-infuse using gentle heat for a few hours).
  • Strain and mix with beeswax (about 1 oz beeswax per 8 oz infused oil).
  • Pour into tins and let cool.

Use it for cuts, rashes, dry skin, and even minor burns. If you don’t want to make it, we have several salves in our store!

☕ 2. Chamomile & Peppermint Tea (For Stress & Digestion)

Chamomile is great for calming nerves, and peppermint helps with digestion—together, they make the perfect blend for when you’re overwhelmed or dealing with an upset stomach.

How to Make It:

  • Mix equal parts dried chamomile & peppermint.
  • Use 1 tbsp per cup of hot water and steep for 5-7 minutes.
  • Sweeten with honey if you like.

Sip before bed or after meals for relaxation and relief.

🧄 3. Fire Cider (For Immunity & Cold Prevention)

This is a powerhouse tonic that kicks a cold’s ass before it even gets started. It’s spicy, pungent, and ridiculously good for your immune system.

How to Make It:

  • Fill a jar with chopped garlic, onion, ginger, horseradish, and hot peppers.
  • Cover with apple cider vinegar and let sit for 4-6 weeks, shaking daily.
  • Strain and add honey to taste.

Take a spoonful daily or when you feel a cold coming on.

🌙 4. Lavender & Lemon Balm Tincture (For Anxiety & Sleep)

Both lavender and lemon balm are fantastic for calming the nervous system. This tincture is my go-to for stress, anxiety, and sleep struggles.

How to Make It:

  • Fill a jar halfway with dried lavender and lemon balm.
  • Cover with vodka or brandy, making sure the herbs are fully submerged.
  • Let sit in a dark place for 4-6 weeks, shaking occasionally.
  • Strain and store in a dropper bottle.

Take 1-2 dropperfuls as needed for relaxation or before bed.

🍯 5. Honey & Garlic Syrup (For Sore Throats & Coughs)

Raw honey and garlic are antibacterial, antiviral, and perfect for soothing a sore throat.

How to Make It:

  • Peel and smash several garlic cloves.
  • Place them in a jar and cover with raw honey.
  • Let sit for a few days (or up to a few weeks for stronger potency).

Take a spoonful when you have a sore throat, or mix into warm tea.
